Celebrate Babywearing!
Celebrate International Babywearing Week 2008 with Babywearing Ireland and AP EU Ireland.
To celebrate International Babywearing Week 2008 here in Ireland, AP EU, along with Babywearing Ireland, have organised an exciting conference on November 15th, 2008 in Portlaoise, in the Maldron Hotel, formerly known as the Comfort Inn.
The program for the conference is below.
Date: Saturday 15th November 2008
Venue: Maldron Hotel (formerly Comfort Inn) Portlaoise (just off N7)
Time: 10am until 4pm
9.30am - 10am: Registration and Prebooked Wrap Class with Anja Alt of Kangaroo Babies.
10am - 11am: Welcome and Introduction to Babywearing - Dr. Kate Byrne AP EU Ireland. This will include a talk about some of the history and benefits of babywearing, and then 3 case study speakers will talk of their individual babywearing stories:
- Shauna Busto: The working mum's angle.
- Fiona Pardy: First-time mum.
- James Burke: The male perspective.
11am - 12pm: AP EU Ireland, Sling Library Fashion Show
12pm - 1.15pm: Workshops & Shopping. Workshops:
- Ringslings and Pouches with Erika Csibi and Lesleyann Jackson
- Wraps with Nicola Whelan
- Asian Baby Carriers with Camilla Madsen and others!
1.15 - 2pm: Lunch
2pm - 3pm: Kangaroo Care - Liselotte Hill, Registered General Nurse (RGN), Registered Midwife (RM) and Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI)
3pm - 3.30pm Ellevill 10 in 1 Wrap Show A display of the 10 various carries using the Ellevill wrap spanning a span of child ages.
